VOLATILIZATION OF Na₂O FROM MOLTEN SODIUM DISILICATE

Volatilization losses were measured at 1300 °C in streaming N₂ and N₂ + H₂O. The results were interpreted using the solution of the appropriate diffusion problem; values of D (diffusion coefficient in the melt) and ex (apparent surface reaction rate constant) were calculated. lt has been shown that both D and α are considerably affected by water vapour present in the atmosphere. |
