Synthesis of α'-C₂S with a graded content of oxides which are generally contained in Portland cement clinker was carried out. The starting component was γ-C₂S, which was ignited at 1550 °C together with the admixtures of the selected oxides and 4.5 % B₂O₃. The α'-modification obtained was treated hydrothermally for a period of 16 hours at 175 °C/9 atm. g with the result that its hydration and formation of the hydrosilicate (tobermorite) gel was effected to a very limited degree only. |
